Troubleshooting & FAQ
Short answers to the questions that come up most often. If your issue isn’t here, use search or ask your library admin.
Why do I get a “Slide Size Mismatch” when I download?
Section titled “Why do I get a “Slide Size Mismatch” when I download?”You’ve combined slides of different dimensions in the same download. A clean PowerPoint export needs one consistent slide size.
- Build the deck from slides that are all the same size.
- When you hit the Slide Size Mismatch prompt, use the same-size search links it offers to find compatible slides.
See Find & reuse a slide and The tray.
Why do I see missing fonts?
Section titled “Why do I see missing fonts?”The fonts used in the slide aren’t installed on your computer. The slide still renders — the message is just letting you know a substitute font is being shown. To see it exactly as designed, install the required fonts locally.
Why can’t I edit this slide?
Section titled “Why can’t I edit this slide?”Usually one of three reasons:
- It’s locked (checked out or in use by someone else),
- you’re looking at a version that isn’t the current one, or
- you don’t have edit rights in that collection.
Open the current version and check the properties; if you should have edit access and don’t, ask your library admin. See Roles & access.
Why can’t I find a slide?
Section titled “Why can’t I find a slide?”You only see the collections you’ve been assigned — content outside your access simply doesn’t appear. To widen the net:
- try Search by Tag, or
- use Lightning Search with its Title / Text / Notes / Fields / Tags toggles.
If you still can’t find it, the slide may live in a collection you haven’t been granted — ask your library admin. See Navigating & search.
Why does my downloaded deck show update badges?
Section titled “Why does my downloaded deck show update badges?”That’s vCheck. The badges flag slides in your downloaded deck that are now out of date compared with the library. Open a badge and Download the updated presentation to refresh it.
See vCheck and Refresh a deck with vCheck.
A document is checked out and I can’t edit it — what now?
Section titled “A document is checked out and I can’t edit it — what now?”Someone else has the document checked out, which locks the document while they work. Wait for them to check it back in, or ask a library admin to Clear Check-Out if the lock is stuck or the person is unavailable.
See Documents and Manage a document.
I’m not getting emails — why?
Section titled “I’m not getting emails — why?”Check your Email Notifications settings:
- Confirm you’re subscribed to the expected events at the correct scope (collection, folder, or item).
- If you rely on the daily digest, make sure the Activity Summary is turned on.
Also check your spam folder and confirm your email address is verified. See Notifications and Notification events.
